CHARLESTON,  SC ␣ June  20,  2012 -­‐ The  Charleston  Junior  Chamber  of  Comm erce  ,once  again,  bringing  you  the   b e st   d a t e   n ig h t   in   to w n !           O n ,    S a t u r d a y ,    A u g u s t    1 8 ,    2 0 1 2 ,    t h e   C h a r l e s t o n   J a y c e e s   w i l l   p r e s e n t   t h e i r    5 t h   A n n u a l   B a c h e lo r   B id    B a s h ,   a    charity  bachelor/bachelorette  auction  to  benefit  SC  Jaycee  Cam p  Hope.  This  unique  event  w ill  be  held  at  the   Hippodrom e  located  at  360  Concord  Street  in  Downtown  Charleston.    Doors  open  at  7pm   w ith  the  live   auction,  starting  at  8pm .  Bachelors  and  Bachelorettes  will  be  auctioned  off  by  famed  auctioneer  Craig Sim m ons.    There  will  also  be  a  silent  auction,  w hich  includes  excursion  packages  and  local  activities  from    around  South  Carolina.    Following  the  live  auction  G roove  Junkies  will  entertain  the  crow d  into  the  night!

About  SC  Jaycee  Camp  Hope: Jaycee  Cam p  Hope  is  a  statewide  residential  cam p  for  children  and  adults  with  developm ental   disabilities  sponsored  by  the  Junior  Cham ber  of  Com m erce  (Jaycees).    The  camp  offers  individuals  and  fam ilies  by  giving  parents  and  caregivers  a  rest  while  their  cam per  is  at  camp.

Cam pers  develop  independence  through  daily  cam p  program s  such  as  canoeing,  crafts,  overnight  cam ping,   archery,  sw im m ing  and  other  activities.    Jaycee  Cam p  Hope  is  the  num ber  one  project  of  the  SC  Jaycees.    By   raising  support  for  Cam p  Hope,  Jaycees  are  giving  individuals  in  their  com m unities  the  opportunity  to  go  to   camp.

The  SC  Jaycees  have  provided  financial  support  for  every  cam per  attending  Jaycee  Cam p  Hope  since  1969.    To   date,  the  SC  Jaycees  have  raised  over  $950,000  and  supported  m ore  than  10,000  individuals.    The  SC  Jaycees   were  also  instrumental  in  establishing  the  Outdoor  Lab  as  a  perm anent  hom e  for  Jaycee  Camp  Hope  since   1975.

The  Charleston  Jaycees,  or  Junior  Cham ber  of  Comm erce,  is  a  non-­‐profit  organization  that  has  offered  leadership  training  through  com m unity

service  in  the  Charleston  area  for  over  20  years.  The  Charleston  Jaycees  give  adults,  betw een  the  ages  of  21  and  39,  the  tools  they  need  to  build   the  bridges  of  success  for  themselves  in  the  areas  of  business  development,  management  skills,  individual  training,  community  service  and   international  connections.    W ith  the  focus  on  volunteerism ,  the  Jaycees  are  e nlarging  areas  of  opportunity  for  adults  w ho  w ant  to  not  only   im prove  them selves  but  also  enrich  the  lives  of  others.    Since  1988,  our  chapter  has  donated  its  tim e  and  m oney  to  such  charities  as  Relay  For  Life,   Special  Olym pics,  Habitat  for  Hum anity,  SC  Jaycee  Cam p  Hope  and  m any  others.
